Location: Bournemouth/Weymouth
Contract Type: Temporary
Hourly Rate: -17.97 per hour
End Date: February 2027
Working Pattern: Full Time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday Hybrid

**Please note this role will be subject to Police Vetting, you will need to have been residing within the UK for a Minimum of 3 years continually**

Our client, a prestigious organisation in the law enforcement sector, is seeking a dedicated Police Staff Investigations Officer (Generic) to join their dynamic teams across various criminal investigation departments. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting crime investigations without requiring formal police powers.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct Interviews: Plan, prepare, and conduct interviews with detainees, victims, and witnesses, ensuring adherence to legal standards and individual rights.
Evaluate Evidence: Continuously assess evidence and information to facilitate thorough investigations.
Prepare Statements: Take accurate statements in accordance with legislation and procedures to support ongoing enquiries.
Manage Investigations: Determine appropriate actions in cases and undertake investigations expediently, including managing investigations into major and organised crime.
Support Prosecutions: Present case files to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) and attend court to give evidence as needed.

Essential Criteria:

Demonstrated decision-making skills after gathering and assessing information.
Ability to handle difficult and volatile situations calmly and professionally.
Strong team player with the ability to work independently.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Desirable Skills:

Qualified PIP Level 1 Investigator or equivalent transferable investigative experience.
Knowledge of the criminal justice system, including the application of PACE and Human Rights.

Important Information:

Flexibility in working hours may be required, including extended hours or short-notice overtime.
Driving is essential, as travel across various locations will be necessary.
This role may involve working in different teams depending on operational demands.
