POLICE REHABILITATION AND RETRAINING TRUST Chairperson and Board Member Do you want to play your part in helping the Police Rehabilitation and Retraining Trust (PRRT) to deliver new and healthier futures for retired and retiring Police Officers? The Department of Justice is seeking to appoint a Chairperson and one Board member to the PRRT. The PRRT supports police officers planning to retire from service, or those who have already retired from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) or the Royal Ulster Constabulary GC (RUC GC) and provides services to the wider Justice family, including the Northern Ireland Prison Service. The PRRT is an Executive Non-Departmental Public Body of the Department of Justice. A Chairperson and one Board member will be appointed for a term of up to four years. Board members will be expected to share the values of the PRRT and represent the organisation at a variety of events. The roles are classified as Independent Statutory Office Holders and are public appointments made by the Minister of Justice and regulated by the Commissioner for Public Appointments for Northern Ireland. Chairperson The Chairperson of PRRT is appointed by the Minister of Justice to ensure PRRT''s policies and actions support the wider strategic policies of the Minister; and that PRRT''s affairs are conducted with probity.
