Pay: andpound;85andndash;andpound;100 per day

Are you compassionate, resilient, and ready to make a life-changing impact£ A nurturing and specialist primary school inandnbsp;Burnhamandnbsp;is seeking a dedicatedandnbsp;PMLD Teaching Assistantandnbsp;to support pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties fromandnbsp;29th September 2025.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with a background inandnbsp;healthcare, care work, or SEN education, who is passionate about supporting children with complex needs in a safe, structured, and loving environment.

Role Responsibilities:


  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with PMLD, including physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and medical needs
  • Assist with personal care, feeding, and mobility support, ensuring dignity and comfort at all times
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and medical professionals to deliver tailored learning and care plans
  • Use specialist equipment and communication tools (e.g. switches, eye gaze, Makaton, PECS) to engage pupils
  • Create a calm, sensory-friendly environment that promotes wellbeing and engagement
  • Monitor and record progress, behaviour, and health-related observations in collaboration with the wider team

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:


  • Experience in a healthcare, care, or SEN setting (e.g. nursing assistant, support worker, SEN TA)
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting children with complex needs
  • Confidence in assisting with personal care and using hoists or mobility aids (training provided if needed)
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with families and professionals
  • A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and continuous learning
