Learning Support Assistant - PMLD and Assistive Technology)Location: Canterbury, Kent Start Date: As soon as possibleAbout the RoleAcademics are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to support a learner in a home education setting in Canterbury. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and a confident understanding of assistive technology to support learning, communication, and engagement.You will work closely with the learner, family, and external professionals to deliver a personalised, academically informed programme tailored to individual needs.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport learning activities based on academic frameworks and personalised education plansUse and adapt assistive technology (e.g. AAC devices, switches, sensory software, tablets) to enhance communication and learningImplement strategies informed by PMLD academic research and best practiceSupport sensory, cognitive, and communication developmentLiaise with parents, tutors, and therapists as requiredEssential RequirementsProven experience supporting learners with PMLDStrong understanding of academic approaches to PMLD educationPractical experience using assistive and adaptive technologyA patient, empathetic, and flexible approachAbility to work independently in a home-based settingRelevant qualification or training in education, SEN, or support work (or equivalent ..... full job details .....
