The Opportunity
Our client, a leading provider of property maintenance services, is looking to recruit an experienced Plumber to join their reactive maintenance team working across London.
Offering a competitive salary of £44,000 per annum, alongside a company van and fuel card, this is an excellent opportunity for a skilled plumber looking to join an established organisation and play a key role in improving service delivery across its social housing contracts.
The successful candidate will become part of a dedicated Care Team, focused on improving customer satisfaction, resolving service issues and supporting the recovery of existing contracts.
Our client is looking for a proactive and customer-focused individual with excellent problem-solving skills, strong plumbing knowledge and a genuine commitment to achieving a high first-time fix rate.
This is a role for someone who takes pride in their work, can identify the root cause of a problem and deliver effective, long-lasting repairs while providing an excellent service to residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out reactive plumbing repairs and maintenance within occupied social housing properties across London.
- Diagnose faults accurately and identify practical, long-lasting solutions.
- Achieve a high first-time fix rate, minimising repeat visits and reducing outstanding repairs.
- Deliver excellent customer service, treating residents with professionalism, courtesy and respect.
- Use strong problem-solving skills to resolve challenging repairs efficiently and effectively.
- Work as part of the Care Team to improve service standards, resolve customer concerns and help recover existing contracts.
- Complete repairs safely, efficiently and to a high standard of workmanship.
- Maintain accurate records of completed works, materials used and any follow-on repairs required.
- Communicate effectively with residents, colleagues and management to ensure repairs are completed promptly.
- Represent our client professionally when working in residents' homes.
The Ideal Candidate
To be considered for this opportunity, you will have:
- Proven experience as a Plumber, ideally within social housing, reactive maintenance or domestic property repairs.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills, with the ability to work independently and solve problems effectively.
- A proven focus on completing repairs right first time and reducing unnecessary repeat visits.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- A professional, approachable and respectful manner when dealing with residents.
- The ability to manage a reactive workload and prioritise jobs effectively.
- A reliable, proactive attitude and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- A full UK driving licence suitable for the role.
Qualifications
The following qualifications are preferred:
- NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing or an equivalent relevant qualification.
- G3 Unvented Hot Water qualification.
- Part P Electrical qualification.
These qualifications are preferred rather than essential. Our client values practical experience, technical ability and a positive, customer-focused approach.
