About the Role We are currently recruiting for a skilled and reliable Plumber to join the maintenance team at HMP Styal on an ongoing temporary contract. This is an excellent opportunity to secure long-term work within a stable and unique environment, contributing to the maintenance and upkeep of essential facilities.Working as part of the Works Department, you will be responsible for carrying out a variety of plumbing repairs, installations, and planned maintenance tasks across the prison estate, ensuring that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. Key Responsibilities Carry out reactive and planned plumbing maintenance. Diagnose and repair faults on plumbing systems and sanitary ware. Install and maintain pipework, fixtures, fittings, and associated equipment. Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance. Complete all work in accordance with health and safety regulations. Accurately complete maintenance records and documentation. Work collaboratively with other trades and site personnel. Requirements NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Plumbing (or equivalent qualification). Previous experience within domestic, commercial, or industrial maintenance. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good problem-solving and communication skills. Full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential.
