Platform Engineer - Go, Envoy/Kong andamp; Kubernetes Location: GlasgowWorking Model: 5 days per week onsiteContract: ContractRate: £425 per day We are looking for an experienced.*Platform Engineer.*to join a high-performing engineering team responsible for building and operating secure, resilient, high-volume infrastructure services. This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong experience across Go, API gateways, Kubernetes, distributed systems and modern cloud-native infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Design, build and operate Envoy Proxy and/or Kong API Gateway infrastructure supporting production traffic. Develop Go-based control-plane services, gRPC APIs and Kubernetes controllers. Build and maintain secure gateway and authentication capabilities using OAuth 2.0, OIDC, PKCE and mTLS. Develop and maintain OPA/Rego policies for gateway-layer authorisation. Manage multi-cluster Kubernetes deployments using Helm, ArgoCD and GitOps. Build and extend observability capabilities using OpenTelemetry, Dynatrace and Splunk. Automate CDN/WAF configuration and security controls. Work with PostgreSQL and Kafka-based platform services. Support production incidents, improve resilience and contribute to runbooks and production readiness. Collaborate with engineering teams to onboard services and migrate traffic from Legacy infrastructure. Essential Skills Platform engineering experience.
