Platform Engineer

About The Role FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking Platform Engineers to work for our client within the Financial Services sector. This is initially a 6-12 month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in Edinburgh. Our client is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to help design, build and evolve an enterprise Agentic AI Platform and its supporting engineering services. This is a senior, hands-on technical role combining platform engineering, cloud architecture, automation and governance. The successful candidate will work closely with CIO delivery teams to enable the safe and effective adoption of approved AI platform capabilities, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, reusable and aligned with enterprise architecture standards. Acting as a bridge between platform engineering, architecture, security and governance, the Platform Engineer will develop reusable services, automated workflows and platform controls while supporting the onboarding of teams, products and solutions. Responsibilities: Design, build and continuously evolve the Agentic AI Platform and its supporting engineering services. Develop reusable platform capabilities, templates, automations and workflows that accelerate delivery while maintaining appropriate governance.
