Order Ref: (phone number removed) Position Title: Platform Development Engineer Duration: Contract Location: Manchester Knowledge, Skills and ExperienceEssential:4+ years'' experience in Unix OS and ideally recent experience in container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, etc) and a scripting language (e.g. Python, Bash)4+ years'' experience of at least one major cloud provider (GCP, AWS, Azure) and Kubernetes experienceStrong experience of Site Reliability Engineering practices and principlesStrong experience in operational monitoring and dash-boarding for applications (ELK, SonarQube, Prometheus, Grafana)Experience with containers and orchestration frameworks (Docker, k8s)Experience with source code management and version control (Git/GitHub/GitLab)Experience with modern CI/CD tools and techniquesPrevious involvement in all stages of the software delivery lifecyclePassion for mentoring and technical coaching of engineersExcellent verbal and written communication skillsCollaborative skills - being open to pair programming and working closely with engineers in cross functional teamsInfrastructure provisioning tools e.g. Terraform, AnsibleGood automation skills, including experience with unit testing and automated testing toolsExperience of operating enterprise scale production systems alongside monitoring and telemetry practices (SonarQube, Prometheus, Grafana)Solid understanding of networking concepts, technologies, and protocols (TCP/IP, IPSec, HTTP, FTP, DHCP, and DNS) ..... full job details .....
