This is an excellent opportunity to work on a long-term naval engineering project, fabricating and assembling large steel structures that contribute to the construction of complex vessels.What you''ll be doing:Interpreting engineering drawings and marking out materials ready for fabrication.Preparing plate using a range of fabrication techniques, including oxy-fuel cutting, grinding and edge preparation.Fabricating and assembling structural steelwork including shell plating, decks, bulkheads, frames and longitudinals.Manufacturing a variety of fabricated components including hatches, ladders, access platforms, flooring systems, equipment foundations and other steel assemblies.Forming materials using fabrication machinery such as rollers, presses, guillotines, croppers and mechanical saws.Tack welding components to aid assembly in line with engineering drawings and quality standards.Working closely with other trades to ensure work is completed safely, accurately and to programme.Maintaining a safe working environment while adhering to all Health, Safety and Environmen...
