Measure, mark out, cut, shape, and fit steel plates and other metal sections. Assemble structural steelwork, tanks, vessels, pipe supports, and fabricated components. Prepare materials for welding by grinding, bevelling, and aligning joints. Use hand tools, power tools, burning equipment, and fabrication machinery safely. Carry out quality checks to ensure work meets project specifications and tolerances. Work closely with welders, fitters, supervisors, and other trades. Follow site health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times. Maintain a clean and organised work area Skills & Experience Ability to read and work from technical drawings. Experience with steel fabrication and assembly techniques. Knowledge of fabrication tools and equipment. Good attention to detail and accuracy. Strong understanding of site safety requirements. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Qualifications (Typical) Relevant fabrication/plating apprenticeship or NVQ Level 2/3 in Fabrication & Welding.
