My client based in Rowlands Gill are looking experienced Platers to join an expanding team with an immediate start available.The successful candidate will be taken on a permanent basis after a qualifying period. Package - Salary is 16.50 per hour (PAYE only) Monday to Friday 07:30 until 16:00 Enhanced pay rates available during the week, Saturdays and Sundays.Responsibilities - Interpret and work from detailed engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications. Mark out, cut, shape, and assemble steel plate and structural sections using tools such as oxy-fuel burners, grinders, and plasma cutters. Carry out tack welding and assist welders with joint preparation as required. Perform fitting and alignment of assemblies to required tolerances. Ensure dimensional accuracy and inspect completed work for quality and compliance. Operate lifting equipment, such as overhead cranes and slings, in accordance with safety protocols. Work safely at all times and comply with health, safety, and environmental policies. Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve work processes and efficiency.Essential - Proven experience as a Plater or Steel Fabricator in a heavy engineering or construction environment. Ability to read and interpret complex fabrication drawings. Skilled in the use of hand tools, flame cutting, grinding, and measuring instruments.
