Plater/Fabricator A specialised manufacturing company located in South Wales have an immediate need for an experienced Plater / FabricatorThe organisation specialises in the manufacture of safety-critical, high-integrity pressure equipment, heavy-duty vessels, heat exchangers and custom fabricated metal assemblies, used across a range of sectors including nuclear power, oil and gas, energy, chemical processing, water treatment and renewables.KEY TASKS Accurately cutting, grinding, and laying out a wide variety of materials including sheet metal, plate, tube, pipe, channel, and angle.Performing basic quality MIG and MMA tack welds on mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminiumPerforming final assembly to produce high-quality finished productsMarking out cylinders to provide locations of nozzles, brackets and other attachmentsCutting out holes in cylinders using propane / acetylene torches and plasma torches.Creating templates for a range of shapes and profiles e.g. tangential nozzle in cylinder.Joining metal cylinders together using temporary attachments, chain blocks and similar equipment.Cutting and shaping weld preparation bevels and nozzle weld preparations. SKILLS and EXPERIENCEExperience using manufacturing equipment, such as horizontal saws, pillar drills, rotators, manipulators and cranesExperience with pipework or structural steelwork would be advantageousIdeally had previous experience within the heavy industry and working with pressure vesselsComfortable working at ..... full job details .....
