A construction contractor is looking for a talented and organized Plant Resource Coordinator to join their team in Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive individual to manage the logistics of our essential plant and equipment, offering a competitive salary of -30,000 - -37,000.
Your Mission:
You''ll be the central hub for all plant and machinery, ensuring the right equipment is in the right place at the right time. Your key responsibilities will include:
Procurement & Scheduling: Managing the hire of all internal and external plant and equipment, scheduling their delivery and collection to meet project demands.
System Management: Accurately inputting all plant hire data into the system and maintaining a robust audit trail for every item.
Supplier Relations: Acting as a key point of contact for our suppliers, monitoring their performance and escalating any service issues to the Procurement Manager.
Inventory Control: Keeping plant trackers and hire sheets up-to-date and actively tracking the current location and status of all company tools.
Discrepancy Resolution: Promptly investigating and resolving any inconsistencies between hire records and physical inventory.
Plant Lifecycle Management: Recording all costs associated with repairs, losses, and damages, and completing all necessary reports and paperwork for missing or stolen items.
Compliance & Audits: Ensuring all documentation and procedures are followed and performing regular audits of our plant inventory.
System Development: Proactively contributing to the development and enhancement of our systems and processes to meet the changing needs of the plant hire team.
Operational Support: Providing guidance and support to project managers on all plant-related queries and requirements.
What We''re Looking For:
Proven experience in a plant-focused logistics or coordination role within the construction or plant hire industry.
A deep understanding of different types of plant and machinery.
Exceptional organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in using plant management software (experience with COUPA is a plus) and Microsoft Office Suite.
A proactive, can-do attitude with a strong commitment to health and safety.
