Plant Operator

Job Title: Plant Operator – Landfill Site
Location: Forfar, DD8
Pay Rate: £13.78 per hour + overtime (time and a half)
Hours: 37 hours per week (Mon–Thurs, 07:00–16:45)
Contract: 3 months (potential to extend for the right candidate)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Plant Operator to join our client’s team at Forfar landfill. This role involves operating heavy plant machinery to support landfill operations and restoration works.

 

Main Duties

- Operating 360 excavators to grade and level material on site
- Operating dumpers to transport soil, stone, and other materials
- Using a roller to compact stone roads during site development
- Carrying out daily pre-start checks on plant machinery, including oil, coolant, and AdBlue levels, topping up as required
- Supporting general landfill site operations

 

Requirements

- Experience operating excavators and dumpers (essential)
- Valid CPCS/NPORS tickets (preferred)
- Experience on landfill, restoration, or construction sites (advantageous)
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work as part of a team
