Plant Operative

Our client is a longstanding manufacturing business based in Hull and they are seeking an experienced Plant Operative to join their team on a permanent basis. This role is working on site within their manufacturing areas. Duties: Operate rotary kilns, coolers, screens, blenders and associated finishing plant equipment in accordance with approved operating procedures and safe systems of work. Prepare and feed raw materials into the production process to meet production schedules and product specifications. Monitor plant performance, process conditions and equipment operation, taking appropriate action or reporting abnormalities to the Production Supervisor. Operate blending equipment in accordance with approved batch cards, ensuring product quality and batch integrity are maintained throughout the process. Complete routine inspections of plant and equipment, identifying defects, wear or abnormal operating conditions. Accurately record production data, process parameters, meter readings and batch information. Prepare products for packaging, ensuring all labels, batch information and customer requirements are correct. Maintain excellent housekeeping standards and ensure work areas remain clean, organised and free from hazards. Inspect, monitor and record the performance of Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) systems and dust extraction equipment, ensuring collected material is safely handled and disposed of.
