Take a look at our website for further information on how we are making healthcare safer: Sharpsmart | Sharps, Hazardous and Medical Waste Management.As we continue to expand, we''re excited to open our doors for a Plant Manager to join our team!The Plant Manager will manage daily plant operation, plant maintenance and leadership of the team; by leading by example as a visible presence on the plant floor whilst ensuring that all administrative duties within your remit are completed.You will be responsible for managing a diverse and talented operations team. Your primary goal is to organise staff members to ensure efficiencies and achieve a reasonable workflow throughout the day. Your position will also include directing, training, assisting and disciplining (if necessary) operational employees in a fast-paced setting.Key responsibilities:Management of onsite Maintenance staff, Team Leaders and Floor staff to include ongoing support and directionManagement of floor stock, contingency and supplies including raising orders and maintaining stock levelsDeliver information, updates on issues/concerns and metrics to Team Leaders for shift huddlesCompile and report on all daily plant related metrics, identifying issues encountered and solutionsMonitoring of incoming waste volumes to ensure we remain within permit and footprint capacitiesCompletion of all HandS reporting including accident management, job observations and near missesMaintainX - monitor equipment, ensure completion of all checks, ensure faults are reported, monitored and closed, and statutory inspections are arranged and subsequently completedEnsure Waste Acceptance Monitoring checks are completed assessing incoming wastes for compliance and accuracy against HWCN’s, completion of Non-Conformances and escalation where requiredSpot checking all functions within your remit to ensure completion of all requirements relevant to their rolesEnsure compliance with environmental permitDaily completion of Plant Site DiaryEnsure the highest standards of housekeeping at all timesMaintain and organise external training for Operational staffControl costs in line with budget for plant activities and join routine ESI and P and L review callsProactively, promote, monitor and manage Sharpsmart culture throughout the plantComplete Shift/Weekend handovers as requiredWhat we are looking for:3+ years plant/warehouse leadership experience (or relatable experience)Track record within hands on leadership skillsStrong background in managing heavy machinery including maintenance awarenessProven experience in improving processes and proceduresWorks well with others and can motivate people you work with.Good communication skills both written and verbal with record-keeping disciplineWAMITAB and HandS Qualification advantageous – both must be attained if not held45 hour working week with flexibility a requirementWhat we can offer:Competitive salary package plus bonus potentialPensionPrivate Healthcare and Dental care optionsEmployee benefits scheme including financial planning, gym scheme, discounts across a range of retail, days out and leisure, travel, motoring, food and drink plus much more.Genuine investment throughout your career for professional developmentCompany events and networking opportunitiesStability as an essential service to healthcare, ensuring a non-seasonal and stable business environmentAs a company we are a little out of the box – we move fast, we’re entrepreneurial, we’re growing rapidly at both a and global scale, and for the right person this is a very exciting company to be a part of!
