Plant (Horticultural) Buyer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and commercially driven Plant Buyer to join a fast-growing, privately owned retail business. With continued expansion and strong market presence, the business is seeking a dynamic individual to support the ongoing development of its plant category. Key Responsibilities: Develop and manage the seasonal plant category, aligning with business objectives to drive sales, optimise stock levels and maintain margin performance. Build and maintain strong supplier relationships across the UK and Europe, including regular communication and site visits. Negotiate effectively to ensure the best balance of cost and quality. Plan and coordinate seasonal delivery schedules, ensuring compliance with import regulations and domestic requirements while minimising waste. Respond proactively to seasonal trends and demand fluctuations, identifying risks and implementing solutions to maintain product availability. Monitor market trends, customer preferences, competitor activity, and product innovation. Analyse sales data and recommend improvements to the product range. Develop and support promotional plans throughout the year in collaboration with marketing and social media teams. Provide support on wider category projects, contributing to the overall success of the garden and outdoor product range.
