They are expanding their plant division and are seeking a talented Senior Hire Desk Controller to join their team in Redditch. Position Overview:-As a Hire Desk Controller, you will play a crucial role in managing the hire of construction equipment, ensuring efficient operations, and delivering exceptional service to our clients. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the hire desk, providing leadership to a team of hire desk controllers, and maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead a team of hire desk controllers, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations.
  • Oversee the scheduling and allocation of construction equipment to various projects, optimizing resource utilization.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment availability, hire rates, and contracts.
  • Handle customer inquiries, resolve issues, and provide exceptional service to clients.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as logistics and maintenance, to ensure timely equipment delivery and maintenance.
  • Monitor and improve processes to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in the development of pricing strategies and rental agreements.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews of hire desk staff and provide training and development opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Play a key role in managing and resolving any operational challenges that may arise.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a hire desk controller or similar role within the construction or plant hire industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in using hire management software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • A proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Knowledge of construction equipment and industry regulations is a plus.
  • A valid driver''s license may be required.
