The Role & About the Client
ITS Building People are currently recruiting for an experienced Plant Fitter / Supervisor to join an exciting new operation based at a brand-new depot in Rainham.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Plant Fitter looking to take the next step in their career, as you will be the first engineer on site with the opportunity to help develop and grow the depot throughout the year.
 
You will primarily be workshop-based, working on a varied fleet of heavy plant and equipment including 360 excavators, telehandlers, longreach machines, JCB shovels, tug boats and dumpers.

The successful candidate will work closely with the service manager and will play an important role in establishing the engineering operation at the new depot. As the fleet and team expand, there will be genuine opportunities to progress into a more senior supervisory position.
 
The client currently has 15 technicians operating across the country, with plans for further expansion throughout the year.
 
Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on a range of heavy plant machinery.
• Working on 360 excavators, telehandlers, longreach machines, JCB shovels, tug boats, marine equipment and dumpers.
• Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
• Completing preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing.
• Carrying out inspections and ensuring machinery is maintained to a high standard.
• Predominantly workshop-based engineering, with flexibility required where necessary.
• Supporting the growth and development of the new Rainham depot.
• Taking on increased responsibility as the operation expands.
• Maintaining a safe and professional working environment.

The Candidate

• Previous experience as a Plant Fitter / Plant Engineer is essential.
• Strong experience working on heavy plant and machinery.
• Experience with excavators, telehandlers, dumpers or similar equipment.
• Strong mechanical and hydraulic knowledge.
• NVQ Level 3 is desirable but not essential.
• A proactive attitude and willingness to take ownership of the role.
• Someone looking to progress into a supervisory or senior position would be ideally suited.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while also supporting a wider engineering team.

Working Hours
Monday - Friday | 7:00am - 5:00pm
Morning break and 30-minute lunch break included.
