PLANT ENGINEER - COLCHESTER

POSITION OVERVIEW

Location: Colchester, CO2 region
Working Hours: 07:00 - 17:00 Monday to Friday 
Contract Duration: 1-2 months initially (covering permanent vacancy)
Hourly Rate: £13.50 - £15.83 per hour
Permanent Equivalent Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum

ROLE DESCRIPTION

Our client seeks a skilled Plant Engineer to join their rapidly developing construction division, ensuring plant equipment is maintained to exemplary standards whilst consistently meeting and exceeding customer expectations.

Principal Responsibilities:

- Conduct equipment repair and pre-hire inspections
- Execute comprehensive maintenance programmes for construction equipment
- Perform electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic repairs
- Undertake systematic service and inspection protocols
- Maintain equipment to the highest standards of cleanliness, functionality and regulatory compliance

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Essential Criteria:

- Demonstrable knowledge and experience within plant hire or equipment industries
- Strong collaborative skills with ability to support team objectives
- Self-motivated approach with adaptability to dynamic working environments

Desirable Criteria:

- Full UK driving licence (advantageous but not essential)
