Planning Engineer – Offshore Wind / T&I

Rate: £55–£65 per hour
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
IR35: Outside IR35
Contract: 12 Months

Ceto Talent is recruiting a Planning Engineer on behalf of a leading international engineering and offshore construction contractor, supporting its Offshore Wind business line.

Working closely with the Planning Manager and wider Project Controls team, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining and analysing project schedules, with a particular focus on tendering, offshore Transportation & Installation (T&I) and potentially EPCI projects.

This position would suit an experienced Planning Engineer with a strong background in offshore Oil & Gas, offshore wind or major offshore construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed project schedules in line with contractual requirements and internal planning standards.
  • Review schedule feasibility and identify potential constraints, risks and critical activities.
  • Implement and maintain project planning and progress control systems.
  • Monitor progress against the agreed baseline and identify, analyse and report schedule deviations.
  • Develop and maintain 90-day look-ahead, weekly and monthly schedules.
  • Support the preparation of project status and progress reports.
  • Work closely with engineering, procurement, construction and project management teams to maintain schedule awareness across the project.
  • Support contract amendments, variations and claims through time impact analysis.
  • Participate in project risk management activities, including schedule risk analysis.
  • Support planning activities during tender and bid phases.
  • Provide planning input across offshore T&I and EPCI project phases where required.

Experience Required

  • Strong experience as a Planning Engineer / Project Controls on major offshore construction projects.
  • Proven experience within Offshore Wind projects, but will consider Offshore Oil & Gas Installation
  • Strong experience supporting tendering and bid-stage planning.
  • Experience working on Transportation & Installation (T&I) projects.
  • Experience supporting schedule impacts, variations, claims and time impact analysis would be beneficial.

Software

  • Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6.
  • Experience using Microsoft Project.

Qualifications

  • HNC, HND or bachelor’s degree in an engineering, construction, project controls or related discipline.
