Planning Enforcement Officer
Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils are seeking a Planning Enforcement Officer to join the team based in Ipswich, on a full-time, Fixed term contract for 2 years. The successful candidate will earn a competitive salary of £32,578 - £37,563 per annum (pro rata for part time). This role is open to full time, part time, and job share applications, all of which will be assessed equally. Join our team We are looking for a Planning Enforcement Officer to join our Planning Enforcement team. About the role You will be working on a busy case load and will be tasked with carrying out inspections and assessing developments to ascertain breaches of planning legislation. You will be advising customers of the appropriate course of action to resolve a breach and, when necessary, draft notices, collect evidence and prepare legal proceedings for action against offenders. You will seek solutions to problems in a pro-active and proportionate manner at the earliest possible stage, including through involvement in the pre-application service and through mediation with communities to resolve issues outside direct legislative control where necessary.
