PropSource Consulting are working with a leading national planning consultancy to appoint a Planning Director to spearhead growth in the North of England and North Wales. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in the delivery of major energy and infrastructure projects while building and leading a high-performing team.About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for:Leading and growing a regional infrastructure planning team (Manchester/Leeds based considered, with plans to expand).Managing a portfolio of clients and projects across renewables, energy storage, hydrogen, carbon capture, water, waste, ports, and transport.Driving business development and strengthening client relationships across the north and beyond.Acting as a senior figure in succession planning for the national infrastructure function.Collaborating with colleagues across multiple disciplines, ensuring joined-up advice for complex projects.What We’re Looking ForWe are seeking an experienced planner with:Strong track record in energy and infrastructure projects, ideally including major consents (DCO/NSIP/TWAO).Leadership skills with proven experience in team growth, mentoring and succession planning.RTPI membership (or equivalent) and in-depth knowledge of planning processes.Commercial acumen, business development ability, and excellent client relationship skills.A collaborative, hands-on approach with the confidence to lead high-profile projects.Willingness to travel across the UK as part of a national team.What’s on OfferThis is a rare opportunity to join one of the most established planning teams in the UK at Director level, with clear career progression, strong leadership support, and the chance to shape the growth of a northern practice.
