Town Planner - Manchester
Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading planning consultancy in their search for a talented Town Planner to join their Manchester office. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 2-4 years'' post-graduate experience who is ready to take on more responsibility, work on a wide range of projects, and continue progressing their career in a supportive and ambitious consultancy environment.
The Role
As a Town Planner, you will:
Assist in the preparation and management of planning applications, appraisals, and appeals.
Contribute to the drafting of planning statements, development plan representations, and supporting documents.
Undertake planning research and policy analysis to support project delivery.
Engage with clients, local authorities, and key stakeholders.
Work across a diverse portfolio including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
Support senior colleagues in delivering high-quality planning advice to clients.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
An RTPI-accredited degree or postgraduate qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline.
2-4 years'' experience in planning, ideally within a consultancy or similar professional environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
A proactive, commercially aware, and solutions-focused approach.
Progression towards MRTPI accreditation (or recently achieved).
