We''re recruiting on behalf of Essex and Suffolk Water for a Planner to join their busy team. This is a vital role where you''ll work with both internal teams and external stakeholders to gain the necessary authority to carry out essential works on the water network.

What you''ll be doing:

- Managing daily workloads using corporate systems, balancing resources to meet regulatory and service level requirements.
- Reacting to urgent tasks and in-day changes, using your judgement to find the best solutions.
- Monitoring systems to ensure field activity and availability are always up to date.
- Applying your technical awareness of field activities to plan and support works effectively.
- Using knowledge of street works legislation, including the New Road and Streetworks Act, to ensure compliance.
- Serving notices to local authorities within required timescales.
- Creating planning packs to support field activities (e.g., utility plots, DMA survey packs).
- Supporting colleagues across regions when needed.

What we''re looking for:

- Strong organisational skills and the ability to adapt quickly.
- Good technical understanding of field activities and planning processes.
- Knowledge of street works legislation (NRSWA) is highly desirable.
- A confident communicator who can work effectively with different stakeholders.
- This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a key role that keeps essential water services running smoothly while ensuring compliance and efficiency.
