Our client, a leading company in the civil engineering sector, is currently seeking a skilled Planner to join their team in Ipswich on a permanent basis.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the planning and delivery of highways and civil engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Experience with Primavera P6 and NEC contract frameworks is essential.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Programme Development: Create and maintain detailed project programmes using Primavera P6, ensuring all activities are logically sequenced and aligned with project milestones.
  • Resource Management: Coordinate the allocation of resources, including labour, plant, and materials, to optimise project delivery.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimise impact on project timelines and costs.
  • Progress Monitoring: Monitor project progress against the baseline schedule, providing regular updates and reports to project stakeholders.
  • Contract Compliance: Ensure all planning activities comply with NEC contract requirements, including the preparation of early warnings, compensation events, and programme updates.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure effective communication and coordination throughout the project lifecycle.


Job Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Planner in the civil engineering sector, specifically within highways and infrastructure projects.
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 planning software.
  • Strong understanding and experience of working with NEC contract frameworks.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and risk management.


Desirable Attributes:

  • Experience working on major infrastructure projects in the East Anglia region.
  • Familiarity with other planning software such as Asta Powerproject or Microsoft Project.
