Our client is a family-owned pig farming business in Co. Tyrone. They are investing in their facilities and looking for someone who wants to develop with the business, as there will be opportunities to take on additional responsibility and progress as the business continues to grow - in short, someone wanting a long-term career. The site is a sow breeding unit currently with around 740 sows, keeping the pigs to around 8 weeks of age before they are moved to the home unit. It is an indoor sow unit currently with around a 50/50 split between conventional farrowing housing and flexible farrowing housing in a weekly batch system. The pig unit is mostly modern slatted housing with fan ventilation and WEDA wet-fed feeding.
