Phlebotomist (Part time, Nights)

Responsible for performing all forms of phlebotomy procedures including registration on any age level, processing specimens to ensure stability, performing order entry procedures to ensure accuracy of patient/testing information, and providing all laboratory results to providers.ResponsibilitiesObtain blood samples by performing venipunctures, finger sticks, and heel sticks on any age level. Use aseptic techniques and follow established procedures.Enter all patient information into the correct hospital system, verifying patient demographics, updating and verifying insurance information, and administering ABNs as needed.Organize and distribute workload in phlebotomy, including routine, time-specific, or stat orders, to ensure timely results to providers.Order tests in the computer and contact physicians if there are questions regarding test requests.File/Scan scripts and insurance information, and prepare reports for delivery to the doctor''s office as needed.Prepare samples for courier pickup and/or deliver samples to the appropriate department to ensure specimen integrity.Maintain a proper inventory of supplies needed to provide continuous service, minimizing downtime.Clean and maintain phlebotomy work areas and carts following established procedures.Assist with the training of new employees.Perform phlebotomy duties at assigned locations as determined by the manager to meet departmental needs.Perform all other related duties as assigned.Job Qualifications and SpecificationsA high school diploma and at least six months of job-related experience or equivalent are required.
