Tutor - PEX & Disengaged Students

Stanley, Durham - DH9

English, Maths & Science | Engagement-Focused Tuition

Prospero Teaching is looking for experienced tutors to provide 1:1 and small-group tuition to PEX and disengaged students across Key Stages 3 and 4 in the Stanley area.

We are looking for tutors who can connect with young people who may have become disengaged from education, experienced significant gaps in learning or struggled to remain within a mainstream school environment.

About the Role

The students we support may have experienced periods of non-attendance, exclusion or disruption to their education. As a result, they may lack confidence in their academic ability or find it difficult to engage with traditional classroom-based learning.

The focus of this role is re-engagement. You will build positive relationships with students, establish trust and deliver flexible, engaging sessions that are adapted to their individual interests, abilities and learning gaps.

Rather than simply focusing on academic outcomes, you will help students rebuild confidence, develop positive learning habits and recognise their potential.

The longer-term aim is to help each student move towards their next step, whether that is returning to school, accessing alternative provision or continuing their education through a personalised pathway.
