Personal Assistant Carer

Gentleman living in Helstone, Camelford, seeks a kind and empathetic carer, from the surrounding area, to support him to access a variety of different activities in the community and at home.-The gentleman has a diagnosis of epilepsy (treated with medication) and reduced mobility (has his own vehicle, exterior lift to his bungalow and powerchair but can walk a little).

He has a great-sense of humour and enjoys socialising more on a one-to one basis than in a crowd.

Working schedule: Alternate weekends - Saturdays and Sundays 9-5.00pm and covering for staff holidays. appointments-and sickness etc. Mileage is paid for when covering at 40p per mile.

No personal care involved. The gentleman has Employer Liability Insurance.The successful applicant will need a full Driver''s Licence and will be covered by Motability Car Insurance in order to drive him-to access his various interests and shopping

The first few weeks of work would entail paid work-shadowing with another member of his support team (4 in total) to learn the role.

If required, epilepsy training and certification is fully paid for via a one day face-to-face course.-Other support training-courses are available e.g. First Aid, Manual Handling, Health and Safety.
