Personal Assistant/ Care Worker

Hours: 8 hours per week. Work pattern can be flexible - to be agreed between employer and successful candidate

Description:Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Assistant to support our 7 -year-old son who has complex needs including learning disability, autism and ADHD. The ideal candidate will help create a nurturing environment, assist with activities, and promote social and emotional development.

Tasks will include:

• Provide one-on-one support• Assist with educational activities, ensuring learning is engaging and supportive.• Facilitate social interactions and play, helping to build communication skills and friendships.• Encourage participation in hobbies and interests, including sports or outdoor activities.• Accompany our son to, outings, and social activities.• Provide Input to ideas of activities / things to do.• Communicate effectively with parents regarding progress, challenges, and any concerns.• Any other duties commensurate with the role of Care Worker / Personal Assistant

Required SkillsQualifications:• Ideally someone with experience working with children, particularly those with autism or special needs (preferred). This is not mandatory, but some experience of childcare / SEN would be advantageous. Or maybe you have done / are doing a childcare or SEN related course at college / university.• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.• Ability to adapt to our son''s individual needs and preferences.• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle (if required for outings).• Caring and understanding nature.• Creative and resourceful in engaging our son.• Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.Applicants must have membership of Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) or be willing to join this scheme.
