The Role You will be responsible for developing and delivering Permanent Way designs from feasibility through to detailed design. The role will involve working closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients and contractors to deliver safe, technically robust and cost-effective design solutions. Key Responsibilities Develop detailed Permanent Way designs across rail upgrade, renewal and enhancement projects. Produce designs covering plain line and S&C renewals, track lowering, platform extensions and linespeed improvement schemes. Undertake structural gauging and passing clearance analysis. Produce technical documentation, including calculations, reports and specifications. Prepare designer''s risk assessments and ensure hazards are appropriately addressed through the design process.
