(PERMANENT FULL-TIME) Registered Nurse 3- COMPLEX GENERAL PSYCHIATRY

Overview

Ontario Shores is currently seeking a full-time Registered Nurse for the Complex General Psychiatry Clinic in the Outpatient Services. The Registered Nurse will have sound knowledge of clinical work in mental health and addiction issues, including the delivery of services using DBT and CBT.Responsibilities

Provision of psychotherapyProvision of some case managementPsychosocial assessments; individual and group sessionsLiaison with community social agenciesActive involvement as a member of an interdisciplinary team and planning to meet the recovery needs of the discharging clientQualifications

Degree as a Registered NurseTraining in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (preferred)Completion of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) training with two years\'' experience in delivery (preferred)Registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standingCurrent CPR-HCP is requiredDemonstrated knowledge of Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery3-5 years psychiatric experience in a mental health facility or service (preferred)Knowledge of Standards of Practice and commitment to reflective practice as described by the CollegeKnowledge of Mental Health and relevant policies and legislation (Mental Health Act and PHIPA) is requiredKnowledge/experience with community reintegration of psychiatric inpatientsAbility to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary teamThorough knowledge of evidence-based social work treatments in mental health settings/communityCompetence in individual and group therapy and crisis interventionExcellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skillsAbility to work with clients from diverse ethnic, racial and cultural backgrounds; proficiency in a second language is an assetAbility to perform the physical demands of the position on siteVariable hours may be required due to patient demandLink
