— Full-time 35 hours, PermanentSalary: £50,646 - £55,710 per annum + Market Supplement £5,178. DBS required.Hybrid working with the office in Catford; the successful candidate will be expected to attend the office twice a week.
About the Childcare Lawyer position
Sellick Partnership are exclusively recruiting for a permanent Childcare Lawyer to join a supportive and sociable Legal Team with a local council within the London area. The client is seeking a qualified lawyer who has experience in Childcare Law, preferably from a local authority setting, but applications from private practice are welcome.
This role can be worked on a hybrid basis.
Responsibilities
Deputise for the Senior Social Care LawyersHandle a demanding and busy caseload of mainly child protection cases, with the opportunity to undertake advocacy in the Central Family CourtAdvise Social Services clients in person and in writing on all aspects of relevant legislationPrepare all legal documents relevant to the caseload, including a wide variety of court documents; advise on social care law; and assist the Senior Social Care Lawyers and Principal Lawyer with the most complex or specialised matters as requiredAttend meetings with clients and external parties, professionals’ meetings and panels as required; advise on all aspects of social services workCarry out legal research
Requirements / Qualifications
Qualified lawyer with at least 3 years PQE (Barrister, Solicitor or CILEx)Current practising certificateExperience in Childcare Law; preferably from a local authority setting, but applications from private practice are welcomeExperience in advocacy is desirable

Salary details
Salary: £50,646 - £55,710 per annum + Market Supplement £5,178 per annum
Additional information
N: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception is when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof.
