PCB Layout Engineer

Job Title: PCB Layout Engineer
Location: Leeds (Onsite)
Salary: Up to £45k (DOE)
  
We’re looking for a PCB Layout Engineer to work within a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, designing high quality, high speed, low noise analogue and RF printed circuit boards.

The role will involve developing schematics, producing PCB layouts and creating manufacturing and assembly data packages for a variety of products. You will work closely with an in-house assembly team to deliver boards with a high level of quality and manufacturability.
  
Key Responsibilities

• Design single-sided, double-sided and multi-layer PCBs using industry-standard techniques, ensuring consideration for DFM/DFT.
• Design multi-layer PCB Layout using Altium Designer.
• Work with Electronic/RF Engineers to develop schematics.
• Use Altium schematic capture and layout creation tools.
• Carry out CAD library administration, including symbol and footprint generation and database administration.
• Create 3D models and assemblies from 2D layouts.
• Use AutoCAD to provide support for Microwave Office-generated PCB data.
• Contribute to continual process improvement within the PCB layout function.
• Communicate effectively with multi-disciplined teams to achieve consistent, high-quality designs.

• Extensive knowledge of Altium schematic capture and layout creation tools.
• PCB layout experience within a design role.
• Degree or equivalent within an Engineering/Electronics-based subject.
• Experience with ERP systems and BOM structures.
• Experience designing single-sided, double-sided and multi-layer PCBs.
• Experience in the design of RF/high-speed digital and analogue boards of varying complexity and density.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others and create and harness a team spirit within and across company sites to achieve agreed goals.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Flexible and adaptable to fast-paced changing environments.
• Attention to detail, a high level of accuracy, self-motivation and the ability to plan and organise own tasks.
