Payroll/Credit Control

Type: Permanent, Full-Time 
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000  DOE
Location: Rugby

We are working with a group head office, to recruit for a Payroll and Credit Control Clerk to join their existing Accounts Department.
 
Reporting to the Directors, the role will involve, but not be limited to:

• Full responsibility for day-to-day credit control across multiple company accounts. 
• Collating all required data to ensure payroll is run smoothly and without errors.
• Maintain accurate financial records.
• Support end-to-end payroll processing including time sheet validation.
• Liaise with employees and payroll partners to resolve payroll queries promptly and professionally.
• Process staff expenses and maintain compliant payroll records with full digital audit history.
• Maintain financial documentation in line with internal controls, HMRC and other compliance requirements.
• Ensure compliance with policies, credit control procedures, and relevant legislations.

Person Specification
Essential

• Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent organisation and time management; able to prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
• Clear, confident communicator; collaborative and client-focused.
• Self-starter mindset: reliable, proactive, adaptable.
• Knowledge of Sage and strong Excel skills.

 Desirable

• Experience of working in a payroll environment 
• AAT qualification or working towards a finance-related qualification.
• Exposure to group manufacturing / engineering environments.
