Your new role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Payroll Senior to join a well-established payroll team in Ipswich. This role would suit a payroll professional looking to take ownership of a client portfolio whilst supporting the wider team with technical expertise, training and mentorship.You will play a key role in ensuring clients receive an accurate and efficient payroll service, whilst helping to maintain high standards across the team.
What you''ll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you''ll be an experienced payroll professional with a strong understanding of payroll legislation and a passion for delivering outstanding client service. You''ll enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and building strong relationships with clients and colleagues alike.
- A minimum of two years'' payroll experience, ideally within a bureau or accountancy practice environment.
- Strong end-to-end payroll processing experience, including pensions, statutory payments and benefits administration.
- The ability to manually calculate payrolls with a high degree of accuracy.
- Sound knowledge of payroll legislation, compliance requirements and auto-enrolment regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- The ability to prioritise workloads effectively and meet deadlines in a busy environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A customer-focused approach with experience managing client relationships.
- Experience supporting, training or mentoring junior team members.
- Confidence handling payroll queries from clients, HMRC and third-party providers.
- Experience using payroll software, with STAR experience highly advantageous.
- CIPP qualification, or working towards one, would be beneficial but is not essential.
