Salary: -30,000 - -33,000 per annum, dependent on experience

About the role

We''re looking for a hardworking, outgoing Payroll Officer to join our friendly team. You''ll play a key part in making sure our people are paid accurately and on time, while being a approachable point of contact for employees and managers.

Key responsibilities

• Processing weekly/monthly payroll accurately and on time
• Calculating and processing overtime, bonuses, commission, statutory pay (SSP, SMP, SPP) and deductions
• Handling starters, leavers and changes to employee details
• Managing tax, National Insurance, pensions and other statutory deductions
• Preparing and submitting HMRC RTI returns and year-end reports
• Responding to payroll queries from employees and managers in a helpful, professional way
• Carrying out payroll checks and reconciliations to ensure accuracy
• Keeping confidential payroll records up to date and compliant with legislation

About you

• At least 2 years'' experience in a payroll role
• Good working knowledge of UK payroll legislation, PAYE and pensions auto-enrolment
• Experience with payroll software and confident using Excel
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• A hardworking, reliable approach with the ability to meet deadlines
• Outgoing and personable, with strong communication skills
• Able to handle sensitive information with discretion
• CIPP qualification or working towards one is desirable, but not essential
