Payroll Officer Location: Belfast Salary: 29,000 to 34,000 per annum, depending on experience Contract: Initial six-month fixed-term contract, with the potential to become permanent Working pattern: Hybrid - three days in the Belfast office and two days working from home We are recruiting an experienced Payroll Officer to join a major industrial and engineering organisation in Belfast. This is a hands-on, end-to-end payroll role supporting the accurate and timely processing of weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls. The position would suit someone who can take ownership of their workload, work accurately to strict deadlines and become productive quickly within a busy payroll environment. Key responsibilities Prepare, process and administer allocated weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls. Maintain employee payroll records and process starters, leavers, salary changes and other payroll variations. Check time and attendance information and manual timesheet inputs, resolving discrepancies before payroll deadlines. Calculate statutory payments, holiday pay, overtime, bonuses, allowances and payroll adjustments. Complete RTI submissions and administer workplace pensions and Auto Enrolment requirements. Prepare payroll reports, support reconciliations and investigate payroll discrepancies. Respond to payroll queries from employees and managers in a professional and confidential manner.
