Job Title: Payroll Officer
Salary: £27,000 – £32,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (30-minute lunch break)
Contract Type: Permanent
Location: Rochdale

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our well-established client in the Rochdale area for an experienced Payroll Officer to join their team on a permanent basis.

Please Note: This is predominantly a paper-based role, so applicants must be confident working with manual systems and documentation.
Payroll Officer Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and process the company’s weekly and monthly payroll across multiple UK locations.
- Accurately compile, input, and process payroll data to ensure timely payments.
- Oversee end-to-end payroll processes, including year-end activities.
- Act as the primary point of contact for resolving payroll-related queries and escalations.
- Maintain and follow payroll policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Stay up to date with payroll legislation and advise on required changes.
- Support payroll-related administrative tasks and ad hoc projects.
Payroll Officer Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years’ payroll experience.
- Proficient in SAGE payroll systems.
- Strong technical knowledge of payroll processes and legislation.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
- Comfortable working with paper-based systems.
