Were seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Officer HR Assistant to manage monthly payroll processes and support HR administration. This is a full-time, permanent position ideal for someone looking to grow within a collaborative and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Process end-to-end monthly payroll using Pegasus Opera 3 (training provided if needed)
- Maintain accurate employee records, including personal details, tax data, and pay rates
- Verify time and attendance records; resolve discrepancies
- Ensure correct deductions for taxes, pensions, and benefits in line with legal and company policies
- Handle PAYE, NI, ssP, SMP, SPP, student loans, auto-enrolment pensions, and DEA processing
- Respond to payroll-related queries from staff and external agencies
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with data protection regulations
- Submit HMRC RTI reports (FPS, EPS, P32) and pension files; assist with year-end processes
- Support onboarding and offboarding procedures
- Provide documentation for audits
- Assist with HR administration tasks
- Maintain insurance records for company vehicles
Skills Experience
- 12 years of payroll experience (Pegasus Opera 3 preferred but not essential)
- CIPP Level 2 or bookkeeping/accountancy qualifications advantageous
- GCSE grade 5 or above in Maths and English
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations and processes
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and confident with data handling
- Excellent communication and numerical skills
- High attention to detail
