Our client is seeking a dynamic Payroll Manager to join their rapidly growing company, offering an excellent opportunity to develop and grow alongside the business.

We are looking to recruit an experienced Payroll Manager with a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role, including proven experience in managing a team of Payroll Administrators. Experience of processing payrolls within a bureau or accountancy firm environment is desirable, though not essential.PAYROLL MANAGER''S DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:To supervise and manage the overall function of the payroll bureauEfficient and accurate processing of payroll dataWeekly/monthly payroll processing and preparation of all payroll reports and financial informationProcessing of year endSupervision of the payroll bureau teamSTAFF RESPONSIBILITIES FOR:4 full time and 1 part time dedicated Payroll AdministratorsBRIEF DESCRIPTION OF MAIN DUTIES FOR THE PAYROLL MANAGER:Act as a senior point of contact for clients setting up payroll services, resolving escalated queries, and maintaining strong client relationships.Ensure compliance with best practices, government regulations and payroll tax obligationsAssigning new payrolls to payroll administratorsEfficient and accurate processing of payroll data including all payroll calculations, statutory payments/deductions etc, completion of journalsProcessing payrolled and P11D benefits in kindDoing manual calculations of tax, NI, statutory payments, pensions etc where neededDealing with payroll related queriesMaintenance of payroll databaseProcessing of weekly/monthly payrolls, importing dataPreparation of monthly payroll reconciliations, costing reports, other supplementary payroll reports and journalsProcessing starters, leavers and ongoing amendments etcCompletion of year end duties and P60sOverseeing the auto enrolment and re-enrolment processes for clientsKeeping up with payroll legislation changes and ensuring payroll processing is using latest legislationHelping director with new client quotesSupport director with implementing process improvement projectsManage the implementation of software changes as and when relevantBilling, preparation of payroll client fee notesSetting up new clientsSUPERVISION AND MANAGEMENT OF THE PAYROLL TEAM:Supervise and manage the overall performance of the team/departmentAnalyse, report, make recommendations and develop strategies to improve quality, efficiency and productivity of the teamManage and drive recruitment and selection, individual performance management (appraisals) including under-performance, employee relations, disciplinary actions, induction, career development, succession planning for all team membersIdentify and source requisite technical training for all team membersManage and make recommendations on reward and remuneration for all team membersTake responsibility for the growth of the team to meet the firm''s objectives for the payroll bureau and to achieve profitable revenuesIdentify problems and recommend solutions to achieve sustainable success for the team and achieve a harmonious and effective work environment for the teamSupport the firm to achieve organisational goals, vision and objectivesResponsible for training and induction of new staff and internal placementsEXPERIENCE and SKILLS:CIPP qualified prefered but not essentailPrevious payroll managerial experience ideally in a payroll bureauStrong organisation skills, attention to detail and follow through to resolve any outstanding issuesSound knowledge of Average Holiday Pay, National Minimum Wage and all statutory absence legislationProactive, organised, and sound analytical/problem-solving skillsExperience managing and developing payroll staff, with strong mentoring and team-building skills.Be able to lead a successful, stable payroll bureau and achieve client satisfaction, team synergy and incremental growth in line with the company''s strategic business plans.IT/SOFTWARE:Payroll systems used BrightPay, Iris Payroll Professional, PaycircleBACS Access PayModulrGood knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular ..... full job details .....
