Payroll Clerk

Portfolio Payroll is working alongside a leading global logistics operator who are seeking an experienced Payroll Clerk to manage end-to-end processing on an initial 9-month fixed-term contract. This fully office-based role in Middlesbrough offers complexity, autonomy, and the chance to support a major international transport fleet. Key Responsibilities Managing multi-region portfolios - Oversee end-to-end payroll delivery for a total headcount of approximately 250 delivery drivers. End-to-end payroll oversight - Manage 60 monthly UK payrolls alongside 150 weekly and 20-30 monthly US payrolls. System ownership - Utilise ADP, Sage, and Time and Attendance (TandA) software to log hours, manage variances, and ensure smooth delivery. Quality assurance - Maintain high standards of accuracy, compliance, and service across all varied pay frequencies. Stakeholder collaboration - Work closely with the Payroll Manager and two dedicated administrators to resolve queries and support the team. Ideal Experience Proven payroll background - Minimum of 2 years of practical, hands-on payroll experience. High-volume processing - Comfortable delivering end-to-end payroll across complex weekly and monthly international schedules. ADP and Sage expertise - Confident navigating, processing, and delivering payroll through ADP and Sage systems.
