Job Title: Payroll Officer
Location: Derby
Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 (DOE)
Working Pattern: Full-time, Hybrid Working

The Role:

As Payroll Officer, you’ll play a key role in managing a busy, multi-site payroll. You’ll support the smooth running of payroll operations, help improve processes, and ensure employees are paid accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and process monthly payroll data
• Administer multiple payrolls with minimal supervision
• Handle queries from managers and team members
• Process starters, leavers, and contractual changes
• Manage statutory payments (e.g., sick pay, maternity)
• Perform post-payroll checks and payment runs
• Contribute to ongoing system improvements and reporting
• Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation

Requirements:

• Experience with end-to-end payroll processes
• Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, etc.)
• Familiarity with payroll and HR systems
• BrightPay experience is beneficial but not essential
• Excellent attention to detail and organisation
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Knowledge of current payroll legislation
