Payroll Administrator
Role: Experienced Payroll Administrator
Location: Brighton, East Sussex
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm. Alternative working patterns may be considered, with a minimum of 30 hours across 4 days per week.
Pay: -28,000 - -32,500 per annum, depending on experience
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Experienced Payroll Administrator to join one of our longstanding clients, a fast-growing professional services business based in Brighton.
Joining a busy payroll team, you will be responsible for delivering an accurate and efficient payroll service to a portfolio of clients. This role would suit an experienced payroll professional who is confident managing payroll processes from start to finish and communicating directly with clients.

The Requirements
- Previous payroll administration experience
- Experience processing payroll accurately from start to finish
- Excellent numerical and data entry skills
- Strong record-keeping and attention to detail
- Competent Microsoft Excel user
- Confident communicating directly with clients and colleagues
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Comfortable using different IT systems and software
- Methodical and highly organised approach
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work calmly under pressure
- Able to use initiative and work with minimal supervision following initial training
- Minimum 5 GCSEs at Grades A-C or equivalent, including Maths and English
- Experience with Sage, STAR or Xero would be advantageous
- Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK
The Role
- Process client payrolls accurately and efficiently from start to finish
- Create and maintain accurate payroll records
- Calculate part-month payments and holiday
- Calculate and manage statutory payments
- Process P45s
- Liaise directly with clients and clarify payroll calculations where required
- Manage client workplace pension schemes across multiple pension providers
- Set up pension arrangements and complete monthly uploads
- Maintain accurate payroll and employee information
- Use payroll systems including Sage, STAR and Xero
- Ensure deadlines are met while maintaining a high level of accuracy
