Payments Architect - CHAPS and International Payments

We are seeking a highly experienced Payments Architect with deep expertise in CHAPS and International Paymentsto lead the design, development, and modernization of critical payment systems. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of domestic high-value and cross-border payment infrastructures, ensuring secure, resilient, and compliant payment solutions are delivered across the organisation. This role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, engineering teams, operations, and third-party vendors to drive payment transformation initiatives and support business-critical payment services. Key Responsibilities Define and maintain architecture strategies and roadmaps for CHAPS and international payment platforms. Lead the design and governance of payment solutions supporting high-value and cross-border transactions. Provide architectural expertise across: CHAPS SWIFT International Payments SEPA TARGET2 Design secure payment integrations and messaging frameworks. Support and oversee Moves, Adds and Changes (MACs) within payment environments. Design and implement secure file signing, encryption, and certificate management solutions. Lead architecture decisions relating to payment connectivity, security, and resilience. Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and development teams to ensure compliance with regulatory and operational requirements. Support payment transformation and modernization initiatives.
