We are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient Pastoral Support Worker to join a supportive alternative provision in the Accrington area.This role begins on 1st September on a temporary basis, with the genuine view of transitioning into a permanent contract for the right candidate.Key ResponsibilitiesMentoring and Wellbeing: Provide 1-to-1 and small group pastoral support, acting as a trusted mentor to students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs or challenging behaviour.Behaviour Management: Implement positive behaviour support strategies, de-escalate situations calmly, and encourage productive engagement in learning.Collaboration: Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external agencies to track student progress, monitor attendance, and update support plans.Safeguarding: Actively promote and safeguard the welfare of all students in line with school policies and statutory guidelines.What We Are Looking ForExperience: Previous experience working with young people in a school, alternative provision, youth work, or residential care setting.Empathy and Resilience: A calm, patient, and resilient approach with a strong commitment to trauma-informed ..... full job details .....
