Pastoral Support Assistant (SEN/SEMH)Location: Chorley and SkelmersdaleSalary: Dependent on experienceStart Date: September 2026About the RoleWe are currently recruiting for dedicated and resilient Pastoral Support Assistants to work across a range of SEN and SEMH schools in Chorley and Skelmersdale, starting in September 2026.This role involves supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs, helping them to manage behaviours, regulate emotions, and engage positively with learning. You will play a key role in creating a safe and supportive environment where students can thrive both academically and personally.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide 1:1 and small group pastoral support to students with SEN/SEMH needsSupport students in managing behaviour using positive and consistent strategiesBuild strong, trusting relationships to promote emotional wellbeingAssist in implementing individual behaviour and support plansWork closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionalsSupport pupils during lessons, transitions, and unstructured timesMonitor, record, and report on student progress and wellbeingPromote a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environmentAbout YouWe are looking for individuals who:Have experience working with children or young people with SEN and/or SEMH needsAre patient, calm, and resilient in challenging situationsHave strong communication and interpersonal skillsAre confident managing behaviour in a positive and proactive wayAre ..... full job details .....
