Pastoral Assistant / Learning Support Assistant - Secondary School - Hackney Full Time Term Time Only ASAP Start Up to 125 per day Long Term Role Long Term Futures are recruiting a committed and adaptable Pastoral Assistant / Learning Support Assistant to join a large secondary school in Hackney, supporting students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. This is a varied role combining pastoral support and classroom-based learning support, ideal for someone confident working with students who require additional support with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health), behaviour and special educational needs. Key Responsibilities:Provide 1:1 and small-group support for students with SEMH, behaviour and SEN needsSupport pupils both in lessons and during unstructured timesAssist teachers with lesson delivery and classroom managementImplement behaviour management and de-escalation strategiesWork closely with pastoral teams, SEN staff and Heads of YearPromote engagement, inclusion and positive behaviourIdeal Candidate Will Have:Experience supporting students with SEMH, behaviour or SEN needsConfidence working in a secondary school environmentA calm, resilient and consistent approachStrong communication and relationship-building skillsUnderstanding of safeguarding and inclusive practiceBackground in mentoring, youth work or education (desirable)Location and Transport - Hackney, East LondonAccessible via Hackney Central and Hackney Downs (Overground)Close to Bethnal Green (Central ..... full job details .....
